Guided by a reverence for minimalism, Anemos’ aesthetic centers on the restraint of ‘90s designer fashion, with a nod to French lingerie. Produced in Los Angeles, Resort 2021 blends the chic simplicity seen on ‘90s runways with the effortless appeal of ‘70s icons—from actress Jessica Lange to Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and Papas—in a palette inspired by a sunset in Mexico and the architecture of Luis Barragán. Streamlined silhouettes strike a confident note in bold strokes of color: burnt orange, navy, rust, jade, and lagoon blue.

The collection’s ready-to-wear is informed by modern ease. Strapless tops and dresses skim the body in diaphanous fabrics, like cupro, that look luxe enough for day or night. A timeless button-down feels both retro and of-the-moment in a relaxed fit with an elongated collar. Elevated boardshorts appear in two lengths alongside a flutter-sleeved crop top and feminine dresses. An unexpected floral leopard print is introduced for the season in rust and navy Turkish Cupro.

The season’s swimwear channels the clean lines of ‘90s fashion with sculptural silhouettes in rich hues and graphic prints. A maillot features a square neckline and subtle seaming along the waist and back to accentuate the body. A leopard printed bandeau top, asymmetric high-waist bikini, double string bikini top, string bikini bottom, and a tie-waist one piece are finished with resin tortoise shell accents. An underwire bikini top celebrates Brigette Bardot’s alluring style and is named in her honor. Cheeky bottoms, high-cut thighs, and abstract animal prints put a playful spin on classic styles, while a strapless one piece with a curved neckline feels linear and chic.
